International Prize Winner Hikohito Konishi Architect

Aikoku Farmhouse, Hikohito Konishi Architect, Japan

International Jury Motivation. The Jury found in the winning work the two most significant basic qualities: simplicity and humility. Without any kind of inclination or ostentation, this project located in Hokkaido in Japan was born to fulfill its function in the rural world. With a certain magic, the project brings together the anarchist surroundings. This work plays its role with capacity and authenticity. One of the excellences of this project is represented by the balance between volume and space, creating a superb dialogue between the full and the void. With its three levels of height, the outline of this work is committed to harmonizing this area and determines the rural traits in the best way.
